Education & Professional Development

Includes the annual Travel & Tourism Summit, which brings together tourism professionals from all sections of the state. Various topics and speakers are carefully chosen in response to membership surveys. LTPA also sponsors an ongoing educational program which includes certification: Louisiana Certified Travel Professional.

Governmental Representation

LTPA has concentrated on establishing an effective and influential voice at the State Capitol. LTPA tracks, monitors and lobbies proposed laws and regulations affecting our members and the tourism industry. LTPA also hosts Tourism Awareness Day every May inviting legislators to network with the industry. Grass roots lobbying efforts are designed to help members actively pursue relationships with elected leaders and become involved in the legislative process.

Consumer & Trade Advertising Programs

Opportunities with major consumer and trade publications are coordinated by LTPA for members to secure significant discounts and broaden exposure. In addition, there are a number of other programs in which LTPA brings further savings to marketing budgets including Travel Shows, Brochure/Rack Card Printing, Brochure Distribution and Internet Promotions.
